5 ways to win back members who don't renew (with WhatsApp templates)

A member who leaves almost never says so. They come less, the membership ends, and nobody calls. Yet one message at the right time is often enough. Here are five moments to contact your members, and messages ready to copy.

1. Before the end, not after

The best moment is three days before the end. The member still comes and can renew at the desk on the way in. After the date, they've already got used to not coming.

2. On the day it ends

If they haven't renewed, a second message that day or the next, short and warm. No blame: you're waiting for them.

3. The absent: 10 to 14 days without coming

A member who hasn't come for two weeks is on the way out, even if the membership still runs. A “Is everything all right?” often brings them back.

4. Balances due, without embarrassment

“200 DH next week” is quickly forgotten, on both sides. A polite reminder, with the exact amount, stops the debt from growing and the member from feeling too awkward to come back.

5. Write down who contacted whom

Without a trace, two receptionists call the same member on the same day, or nobody does. Write down every contact: the date, who, by WhatsApp or phone, and the answer.

The messages, ready to copy

These are the messages EasyClub sends, in French and Darija. Replace the first name, the gym, the date and the amount. Send them in the member's language.

One last point: some members don't want to be contacted. Ask at sign-up and respect their choice. An unwanted message makes people leave faster.
